(yea I went there, I couldn’t help it. When I saw awwapp I immediately wanted to say aww snap, apologies).
Ok, this is going to be a short post, but I wanted to share and see what others thought. So I was wandering around the appstorm website and came across a post about awwapp.com, a web whiteboard for collaborating creatively using just your computer, tablet, or phone.
I got excited because at my previous job we had a whiteboard and I thought how great, now I can work here in MD on a whiteboard with someone over in let’s say, MN without skyping in or via email. It wasn’t that easy. You can definitely go on the site and doodle to your heart’s content, but I tried inviting someone to what I had worked on, and it didn’t work in the most up-to-date FF (but it worked in Chrome). You can embed the basic whiteboard for free on your site (assuming you have one), and then the price goes up from there for a more premium whiteboard. I guess I’m not that interested if I have to embed it on my site or have to worry that the person I’m collaborating with doesn’t have the most up-to-date browser. I’d rather have a place to go to work on it, almost like a Cloud. It’s still definitely cool and I’m sure I’d enjoy it more if I read more about it, but their site is so minimalistic that there’s hardly any information to understand anything beyond the basics. So anyway, check it out, awwapp.com, and let me know what you think…like, dislike, could care less?
